How does the forest ecosystem follow the law of conservation of mass and the law of conservation of energy?!?

i need help with this question! i want to be a scientist that studies animals and ecosystems but i cant understand this question! can anybody please help me!!:) and if you are going to say something rude or mean or arent going to help me dont say anything please!:)
